Meet Dr. Pritchett

James W. Pritchett, MD is has dedicated his career to improving quality of life through reconstructive surgery and by searching for solutions for bone and joint problems through research. A native of Seattle, Dr. Pritchett is a graduate of the University of Washington and its Medical School. He has published more than 100 original scientific research papers and has had research funding through the NIH.

A Leader in His Field

Dr. Pritchett has pioneered techniques in bone conserving joint replacement surgery and has completed thousands of successful joint resurfacing procedures throughout his career. He served on the Board of Trustees of Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research and the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons (President, 2004-2005). He is the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Swedish Medical Center

Awards and Recognition

In 2004 Dr. Pritchett was elected by his peers as “An Outstanding Physician in the Puget Sound Area” and also received the Physician Recognition Award. Dr. Pritchett has been certified and three times re-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He holds fellowships from the American College of Surgeon (lifetime member), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North Pacific Orthopedic Society and is a member of several other medical associations.
